3d. Rossal (ML 27) (MN 5434 2820)

A lozenge-shaped stone 2.1m high x 0.8m. x 0.45m. orientated approximately E/W.  As with the nearby stone at Uluvalt C, it has been thought to be a waymarker for medieval pilgrims travelling to Iona (RCAHMS and Ruggles 1984) and therefore not prehistoric.  However it gives an alignment to the west which fits a pattern.  (See Discussion.)

The stone is situated close to a wall + deer fence and viewing from the East is awkward.
